✨ POSITION ✨ Have you ever heard of a posteri ✨ POSITION ✨ Have you ever heard of a posterior or “back labour”? This happens when a baby is facing upwards towards the mother’s belly instead of towards the spine - so baby is back to back. It can sometimes make labour feel longer and more intense but don’t worry, baby is designed to rotate during contractions, gradually moving into the optimal position for birth and there are lots for the mother to do too! 🤰🏻Movement is key - rocking, swaying and changing positions can help 🤰🏼Forward-leaning positions - hands and knees, leaning over birth ball (creating more space in the pelvis for baby to wiggle into!) 🤰🏽 Spinning Babies techniques - check out their website spinningbabies.com for inversion work - it’s all about maximising room for baby 🌀 Join us for our Positive Birth Workshop to learn all about what’s going on inside during labour and birth - it’s pretty fascinating what your body and baby are able to achieve together! ~ TEAMWORK! 👊🏼 👶🏻

Whether it unfolded as you had hoped or took an unexpected turn, it can leave deep emotional marks. As practicing midwives, we understand both the clinical and emotional aspects of birth. Knowing what happens biologically can help make sense of your experience, providing clarity and aiding in processing your thoughts. A birth debrief isn’t about “moving on” or defining your experience with a label. It’s about giving yourself permission to feel, reflect, and gain understanding. Perhaps certain moments felt overwhelming, you have lingering questions, or you simply want to share your story with someone who truly listens. At Birth & Beyond Education, we offer free birth debriefs to anyone who has attended our workshops. This is a safe and supportive space to ask questions, express emotions, and process your experience - whether it was challenging, beautiful, or a mix of both.
